Good news:I found that level in PackageX, and rewrote a texture (Senn made a mistake in naming possibly), and it looks exactly like it.

Bad news:I forgot the DEF name.

Ok, good news and great news.

Good news:I found the name. It's SCREEN_1.DEF.

Great news:The map from the picture below is in the files--along with some sort of earlier version!

The earlier version looks to be more like Death Egg. That's the only difference.

The "earlier" one is SCREEN_3.DEF.

These are all well known screens, they've been discussed on sentient in the past , but that discussion is all lost to history, I have an archive of sentient backed up by senn himself, and Xeniczne had planned to set them up on the site here.but I suppose he's busy as he has vanished.
But yeah, these screens, they are not documented anywhere like on Retro's wiki, If your a sonic retro member you could be the one to do that. And you are allowed to show any screen or whatever you find in the leak, as the leak is public. there is a lot of interesting things to be found threw out the 2 def file leaks for sure. I been threw them Nemours times while working on the level reconstruction project for use in AXSX.

P.S. Screen 1 2 3 def files were only produced because Sega needed something to show the gaming magazine publishers.
They were not meant to be final levels or anything of the sort.

I know Screen 1, 2, 3 weren't supposed to be made "legit" levels. I'm just saying it's odd how there's a copy of SCREEN_2 entirely redone fwith a different artsyle.

Also I did check the backup out--I never been to senntient! The one sad thing is that there was this post about Project-S releasing all of the assets and gameplay that I can't seem to find.

EDIT:Quick edit here, since your a mod here, am I aloud to upload that desktop picture?

EDEDDIT:Also, I could try to set the archive up on Github. All I'd need is the backup itself and the corresponding HTML file. We'd just need to add a "CNAMES" file (not folder just generic file), which I have.

yes you can upload the desktop picture, the leaks are public now and anyone can do anything with them it seems.
I'm really busy right now, also i'd have to ask Mr. Senn if it is ok to do a backup of his site on githib.

I posted this on Sonic S-team (The steam group I made), and did a breakdown. I've confirmed this is either Senns desktop or Ross' desktop.

Hope I didn't get too detailed with the website thing. lol

I'm going to see if I can somehow disable the FPS counter in 040, here's a basic rundown.

I'll use DEATH00C.PCX (a blank file), and go into the 040 SYSRSRC. Then just swap the PCX.

ive opened them all already, nothing really new inside. everything has been ported to AXSX already, you'll get a chance to see whats inside there. but yeah I have 2 programs to open them, you would need an old PC to do so.

Ok yeah that file I also could not open at the time. I'm looking at my notes from when I was going threw the files.
But I think I remember Jolyroger opening it and it was nothing new. I should have added the conclusion in my notes.
the file size is not that large but large enough to be a .anm file
I'll have someone look into getting it figured out. that way we can document it for sure.

EDIT: ok ! so with the help of my friend F2bnp we can now all see that the file is in fact a .anm file and the image displayed is a grey blank image.
I added this to my notes for future reference.

The SNCRUNL3.PCX is not going to show up in game because it is a .anm file with the wrong extension. it loads up in the .anm viewer that I have, while a standard .pcx file will not.
I didn't quite understand your post, you say that you were able to get the SNCRUNL3.PCX to load up and it was the fish ? or you got the pallet to switch? its easy to do in the .def file. just change the pallet related to the fish and he will look correct.

Here is the Fish in AXSX lol every level has been ported by hand manually using the .def files as guides. So even if the original engine cant display it correct because the .def file isn't using the correct pallet since senn didn't assign it yet at the time of the save when he set it up. Or the engine was changed so that it wont load it cause its a newer version of the engine rendering the older def files obsolete. we can still play them in AXSX.
