Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

I didn't mean to say that it was a good nor a bad concept. But i only want to make him know that making claim that is project will never be cancelled is not a good idea. I remember when i heard the producer of the Sonic SpeedBreak fan film saying something like that before. Yet, he was really confident that his fan film project WILL be completed! Despite having a talented team and a very promising project, it ended up being cancelled. It's not the first time that something like that happen, and it's not going to be the last either. So when someone say that his project will saw completion for sure.....don't be too sure about it, we may never know.

I still want to wish him good luck, though. But i will suggest to not say that he will never give up.

Remind me of a sad story of a Zelda Ocarina fan remake in 2d graphic a la Link to the Past style. What is sad you may ask? Well, the guy behind this project died in a car crash.  hmm

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

Ah, yes that is rather sad. No worries I wasn't saying that you were saying that, I was only stating an opinion about the project.

Well, as Alex said as well I wish you the best of luck mr. Vortex.

This project is not something i work on 24 hours a day, this is more like a hobby.
Wich (<-- spelled right?) means i'll never rush this project into death.

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

Really great news everybody, the engine is 100% complete! i repeat, 100% complete! Witch means the game is getting closer to finished. the only one thing missing is the sprites and level design (wich RyeGuyXD wanted to handle, but i can't for some reason contact him now...). The game will have sonic 2 physics (my own engine) and sonic 2 scaled sonic xtreme sprites. m thinking about having a genesis styled sonic xtreme game. And one more thing, do you guys think that this game is worth for sage?

things added:

rings physics
springs
spikes
enemies
itemboxes
boosters(?)
spindash
double jump removed!
breaking blocks(jumping on them will break them)
copy sonic 2 physics(as close as i could come!)
and much more!

thank you guys for the support guys!

edit: worked on fixing bugs all day all night, so please excuse my writing. im gotta rest now.

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

It's totally worth entering for SAGE!
This is pretty sweet!

67

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

cool

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

well, RyeGuyXD and me will start working on a demo level then.

69

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

And also, i scaled down the graphics to 16-bit! to get the genesis feel.

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

Video showing of the 100% finnished physics engine:

71

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

yeah it's pretty cool, the physics should maybe feel more like the genesis games though

72

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)

i have tweak't the physics so now it matches sonic 2 90% , should i make a video about this?

73

Re: Project VXH (Sonic X-treme 2d with a fisheye)
